Nice collection! If I had that many pets in my room, I think I would be sleeping with a few! Cool you took in the one in bad shape. Thanks!

Wow! Where do you find the room for those huge beasts! I'm not too fond of snakes, but they're very beautiful. I'm a sucker for albinos. I couldn't even imagine how long it takes for you to feed them. What's your daughter's reactions to them?

Thanks. The little Orange Arboreal guy is a Jayapura Green Tree Python.
Well i am in the process of building a 30'x30' insulated barn type thing in my backyard so i can have a completely heat controlled room to help minimize the electricity but at the moment i have the majority of them in my spare bedroom and i have now 3 racks (6 tub, 4 tub and 3 tub) in the room i sleep in. Feeding wise it is nice. Most of them accept F/T so i have one of those giant freezer chests in my garage stocked up.. I normally just fill up a cooler with luke warm water and toss all the food for the day in it.. It takes more time thawing and sorting out who gets what than it takes for them to eat lol.. I am lucky only having 2 ball pythons that require live and the adopted blood python has refused meals for some time now. My Daughter loves them. At the moment i will only let her hold some of my older ball pythons and they do great around her. I have had my adult Dumerils out around her and let her pet them and what not but i have yet to let her get close to the Burms, Retics and Green Trees. She will have to wait a couple years. I just don't trust them enough lol -------------------- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Wouldn't think the orange guy would be a green tree python, very misleading.
Wow that's gonna be an awesome snake barn. Gonna add more to the collection once you get that built? You'll have to take pics once you get it complete and stocked. That would be interesting to see. I bet that is a relief that they take frozen prey. Is it normal for them to refuse food like that or is the blood python's health really bad? I see two untouched rats in his cage. Will you have to force feed him eventually? From the pic he just looked like he had a bad shed, still beautiful nonetheless. I don't understand how people let their pets get to that point. Glad you rescued him
Good to know your daughter isn't afraid of them. Break her in while she's young so she doesn't become the "prissy eww snake type" hehe. I definitely don't blame ya on keeping the burms, retics and GT's away. Probably the constrictors too? -------------------- ![]() 0.1.0 Green Iguana, 0.1.0 Viper Gecko, 3.5.0 Pictus Geckos, 2.2.0 Crested Geckos 1.0.0 Gargoyle Gecko |

I have never owned a blood before this one so i do not know if it is normal for them to go off feed but yes his health is horrible.
When i went to look at him he was in a 20g long glass tank where he took up 80% of the tank coiled up with a tiny deli cup water bowl with a temperature of 74 degrees. His tank had not been cleaned in over 3 months. Had no substrate he was sitting on glass. The picture above is within the first couple days i got him. He looks just about the same even after a bunch of Shed help methods i have offered him. He is also extremely hostile which is why there are 2 mice laying in his tank lol. I have never met such an aggressive snake.. I feed and clean my Green Tree enclosures and Niles monitor enclosures and they are suppose to be 100 times worse tempered than anything and that is not the case here. I keep telling myself over time and with a lot of work he will have a good life. we will see. As for my daughter. She is most interested in the ball pythons. I think it is because all the variety of patterns just appeal to her. And amazingly she recognizes my spider when she sees her. Just about every type or snake no matter what color or size she points and says "Sna" but my spider male she says spide.. She is only 18 months so i find it pretty amazing lol.. Might help that each snake she looks at i repeat the morph or species it is. -------------------- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

That's definitely sad to hear about the blood. It's definitely got to be hard for them, seeing as how they can't make out facial features or anything with their sight, so I can understand why he's hostile. Hopefully eventually he will realize you're a different person, and realize he's in a much better environment. I wonder why they didn't upgrade him? He looks huge! How big is he? Sorry I ask a lot of questions lol.
That's awesome about your daughter. She's got a good eye, I'd have to say spider is definitely one of my favorites, other than albinos of course. I'm sure she doesn't know how react to your chameleons since they always change their colors eh? hehe. -------------------- ![]() 0.1.0 Green Iguana, 0.1.0 Viper Gecko, 3.5.0 Pictus Geckos, 2.2.0 Crested Geckos 1.0.0 Gargoyle Gecko |

Great pics as usual... I love the GTP. And well done on raising your daughter properly She'll get to be the cool (but slightly freaky) kid when she gets old enough for school... don't know how many of her friends parents will let their kids come round mind I look forward to seeing photos of the barn once it is finished

Bloods get a bad rep for being nasty. They can get that way very quick if you don't work with them and that is what happened here. He may be able to change but its hard to say. Most likely not. He looks to have a nice color if you can get the shed off him. I tell you what, if you feel over burdened by these guys, feel free to send me a few dums, the blood, the albino burm, the retic and or a few cresties.

Thanks :-) I am going to try and work with him. If things don't get better temper wise i will probably build him a nice big show case home. I don't enjoy "Display Only" animals but he will still be in better shape than where he was.
He is not even close to full size and he is hard to handle with his temper. Which is saying something because both Burms are 3 times his size and they have a temper sometimes and it doesn't compare. and we all know how GTP's act lol. -------------------- Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Yeah. Bloods can be testy especially neglected bloods. I never had a bad experiance with burms. My GTP is a doll. You can pick it right out of the can. I need to update my photos on mine. Its gotten so big and is really turning green. The one with I will say about mine is, the feeding response it terrific. I'd hate to be a fuzzy in its presants. I want to get back into bloods again.
