would 2000 work in and 18 gal bin? i told my mom to get a 30 and she came back with this and said "it'll be fine". will it be to cramped for them to live and breed?

The dimensions are approximately 24x16x10 right? If you can provide enough egg crates in their for them to all hide it may work. It seems a bit cramped to me though when you start to add additional nymphs to the mix. If you already have the 2000 in there I would just keep it clean and see what your die-off rate looks like. If you don't have any yet I would start with a 1000 instead and see if they can successfully maintain numbers with that amount of space.
