First, where are you located? Then we might be able to help you find what you're looking for. I have to admit, when someone asks what they should get, my first response is Crested. Now it's Crested or Gargoyle, they're both Rhacs so it's fair, they're both awesome if you could afford to own both.

Like Jess says, where are you based it'll help us. Tbh if you can't get a crested gecko in your area and leos cost that much I don't know what you will be able to get for 50. Is there a reason you can't wait and spend a bit more once you have saved up a bit?

also, you say you have the set-up, but what kind of set-up do you have? Different geckos need different types and sizes of cages. If you have, say a 10g, then your options are more limited. If you have a 30g, then there are lots of reptiles you could get. Also, keep in mind that if your cage is long, then it is more suited for a desert species, whereas if it is tall, then it might be best for a tropical species.

In addition, I have to agree that if you only have 50 dollars then you may want to consider saving up more money before making the comittment to an animal. Keep in mind that you will also have to come up with the money to purchase food, species-specific supplies, and vet bills. Sometimes waiting until you have the money for the gecko you want is better then just buying the gecko you can afford smile.gif

Very true. I should have read his post more carefully. $50 is the normal shipping cost for a gecko, not including the gecko itself. Also if I was buying an animal I wouldn't consider my money being "wasted" on them. I'd be sure you're fully committed before purchasing, that way if something does happen to where the animal does turn up ill and you can't afford a vet bill, that would just be money "wasted".
