Post subject: My Visionariums and other pics. DUW

So I finally got everything needed for my Visionariums. I decided to put the uth on the back glass because I didn't want the chance of it melting the bottoms, nor did I want it to overheat Evie on the bottom. Plus my my pictus and viper geckos are ground dwelling, so it's usually better to have the uth on the back. Anyways here's the pics;

Image
Starting from the top, here's Gex my Viper Gecko's cage,

Gex hiding,

Directly below Gex we have Stubby my female Pictus,

On the prowl,

Beside Stubby we have Diego, my male pictus (he's rather shy... or just stubborn cause his manhood has been cut off in the sense he can't get his freak on with Stubby anymore.)
Image
In his hide,

Pic from cell phone, the only pic I have of him not hiding,
Image
Diagonally from Diego, we have Evie my Crested Gecko,

That's all my visionarium pics, now I can't show all of those guys love without showing Tiny Hendrix and Harley some love as well,
Tiny Hendrix female Iguana,

Harley male Crested Gecko,

Great setups and excellent choice of reptiles (same as I have on many lol). ;3 And huzah for the iguana in a great cage!

Your visionariums look just like mine minus a carpet. I even have that EXACT UTH in mine, brand and size.

Wow beautiful setups. I especially am jealous of your cages by design cage for your iguana! Also I wanted to ask, I bought a few visionariums with the dividers like you have, but every time I open the cage it makes this terrible nails-on-blackboard squeak. Does that happen with you? I stopped using the dividers because of it lol.

Great setups! Smile

I know you had been asking about those visionariums a while back, so I'm really glad they worked out for you. I like how they look.

Just an aside, the hammock that you have in Evie's cage, I got one for my 4 Bombina (Firbelly Toads) and they actually love it, LOL.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing!!!

Thanks everyone.

Duel, That's awesome. You'll have to post pics of yours and all your little ones, we would love to see them!

Jill, Yes very worth the wait. At first they looked tiny with their dividers, but then I realized all my terrestrial geckos that are in those cages (besides the crestie) doesn't need a whole lot of room, cause they rarely use it. Until Evie is 4 months old she doesn't need a lot of room either hehe. Although, that little one is becoming quite the porker, she out weighed everyone in terms of how much she gained in the past month.

Yes plenty of room for baby pictus in there hehe. And Tiny always has that do not bother me look until she wants food. Then she's at the bottom of the cage scratching at the glass. Trust me she won't let me sleep a minute over 7am, she knows when her feeding time is!

Coexist, Yes there was terrible screeching at first. You have to make sure when you put them in that it "pops" into place up top. Just keep tapping against it and you will know what I'm talking about. Also, I find it helps if you have the door that's on the right side of the cage, the outside door. That way the left side door is the only one rubbing against the divider. Something about which way they open is how it makes a difference on the noise.

Anna,
Yeah finally, I had some issues at first cause they didn't send my dividers with my visionariums, and as you can see how important they are hehe. I put the hammock in my other geckos cages, they didn't care for it, the crickets got more use out of it than them! Evie likes it, she will sleep on it as long as I have fake plants over it, that way she can sleep under the plants and on the hammock. She's doing that right now as I'm typing this.

I get a lot of compliments on the cages by design cage, it's definitely worth the money. The only thing I dread about it is in a few months when I plan on moving, it sure will be fun tearing it apart and putting it back together. Neutral

haha yes, I guess it's good my pictus babies decided to hatch or I would have that very same problem. I have to save room for them hehe. Hopefully their sexes turn out to be more females than males that way I can take some of the dividers down, otherwise I might have to buy more visionariums! hehe.

It's becoming harder and harder to decide which ones I want to keep and sell. They each have very neat little personalities. I might just say the heck with it and keep them all hehe. One I'm quite fond of sits on his butt like a dog and watches his surroundings. Crappy quality, but my digi camera scares them.

Indeed. If I do I'll find a way to contact you other than the board, since it's against forum policy. Wink

Haha I just picked up a small group of pictus geckos and I'm really excited for them! I'm debating whether or not to set them up in my visionarium. The three females are gunna go in the larger cage, the male will be alone until I am ready to begin breeding Smile

If you don't put the separator in, your three females should fit perfectly in a visionarium. You would be amazed of how little space they actually use. They sleep, eat, then go back and sleep some more.

Since pictus are extremely prolific, just make sure after your females have laid 2 clutches you must remove the male. Females are known to die early because of over breeding. They are also known for retaining sperm, so they will definitely lay all their clutches of eggs without a male present. After you remove your male, he will be very mad at you lol. Diego is still is mad I took away his lover. Also remember they don't have a breeding season, they can breed all year round.

I'm sure you probably already knew all that, I just wanted to remind you.

If you have any questions on these guys don't be afraid to ask. Very Happy

Congrats! Post pics when they arrive! Razz Also, tell whoever is sending them to not put them all in the same container. My female dropped her tail during the shipping process cause the guy I bought her off put them in the same container. This was back in oct and she still hasn't fully grown her tail, but I'm not complaining we went through a stressful time our first few months, I'm very proud of my little lady. I could only imagine if all 3 of your females were together!
