There is a law that is trying to be passed in NC that will make owning herps illegal. Completely. It was started by some radical animal activist group but now apparently the higher-ups are taking it seriously into consideration.

I hope this doesnt go through..I want to be a herpetologist and NC may not even be able to have them in zoos soon.

Bodie are you sure it was passed? About a month ago the legislative session ended and any bills that did not involve money that weren't passed died. http://www.ncleg.net/gascripts/BillLookUp/...mp;BillID=S1477 says that no action was taken after it was referred to committee, so I would assume it died when the session changed over.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the timing of your post Bodie. Link, I'm pretty sure it's dead.

That bill died in May, so until they try to pass it again, which they do once every two years, we are safe. wink.gif
