A friend gave me a gecko tonight because he couldn't take care of it...or ever really took care of it. It hasnt eaten in a while and his eyes all are all crusted over looking...like they may not even be there anymore. Please help me help this gecko! What do can i do for its eyes?

Good news is he is eating wax worms...but there are still problems with the eyes...

There is really several things that could be causing this, you are going to need to consult a vet. Does it by chance look like the leo has mites? Is it both eye's that are affected or just one?
Also, its great that it is eating, but beware that leo's tend to become addicted to wax worms and may not want to return to crickets or meal worms? Wax worms would not be a food source that represented 100% of their diet. Also, make sure the leo is not around any other leo's for now.... |
