Just before i went away for the weekend i noticed an awful looking black hole on Moes tail
about 2 inches from the end, it was very black, and about 5 MM deep
i treated with iodene, and left it.he was not moving alot and looked very sad.
when i got back on sunday it wasnt so black, and had healed slightly, is no longer an open hole, just a gauge out of it, and its made his tail kink at right angles
is he about to drop this section?
what could have caused it?
its pretty impossible he burnt himslef on the light, he never goes on th eceiling, and i have a mess guard anyway.
there were 2 locusts in the cage the night before, could they have bitten into his tail like that?
darkling beetle bite?
parasites?abcess?
he seems happy enough now, is moving around and is eating fine
what do you lot reckon?

Could be damage from the light or the locusts. Locusts CAN bite, i know that from personal experience.
Moe will probably drop the tail, but if things do worsen, a vet trip wouldn't hurt.
Would you be able to post a pic?
