Do you have a thermostat on the heat mat?
If not invest in one it makes you rlife and the snakes much easier. You can buy them at some hardware stores for about 20 bucks. they just plug in the wall and then you plug in your heat mat and put the probe over it set the thermostat to whatever temp you need it at and your done. you can also buy the special reptile ones but they are expensive and do the same thing.

you only need one heat pad and you don't need a heat lamp becuase all the heat it needs is comming frome the mat. you do need a day and night cycle tho

Not to sound mean here...........but you really should have had all this figured out.......
In nature at night it is cooler then during the day........so in the room/tank it is in you should try to get a temp drop at night.
