ok I know a okeetee and a amenelistic{spelling error} make a reverse okeetee. But what are the chances. Also the amenelistic is the female.I know that reverses are expensive to I saw a baby for 75$ at the last show.I just dont want a 1 out of 100 chance and get my hopes up.
Also can you mate a 3 year old and 6year old without trouble cause my snakes have that age difference.
so far I got 4 corns
cuddlesM{snow} hatchling 8'
lindyF{amenelistic} juvy 18'
michelleF{hypo} adult 40'
snugglesM{okeetee} adult 55'
I was planning on hypo and okeetee to mate 08 and then in 09 that if lindy is 40' ill breed her with snuggles to get a small clutch of eggs. Then in 10 ill have cuddles\michelle and snuggles\lindy.
Plz give me some advice here.

ps I've given my breeder males girly names.
pss a 5 1\2 tank would be okay for incubation.

Hey Sam, long time no see. I am not so sure if a okeetee and amel make reverse okeetee. Genetic. speaking a ok. is a normal looking cornsnake/local variety from SC, or a selectivly bred corn with black outlines.if you bred them together you would get a somewhat normal looking snake thats het for amel. You would have to bred the babies together for a 25% chance of a amel. But i think it would not be a good looking reverse because of the fact that the reverse okeetees having been bred for the wide white lines around the saddle for generations.
I have a reverse okeetee/het motley male at home but it is a male too and only a 60g, 24in guy from last year. By the time he would be ready we are up north again. Also i dont think the age differnce would cause a problem. I am pretty sure that the corns dont ask each other for their age when they mate in the wild. About the 40in. you know the guide line is 3-3-300. three years old ,three foot long and 300g for the female.
Ahhh i am playing to much with the corn-genetics-predictor.

A normal x Amel. will not produce any visual morphs unless the normal is HET. You will get all normals HET for Amel.

Breeding an older snake to a younger snake is not a problem as long as both are old enough to breed. You should really go and download a genetics calculator. That would help you out a ton.......

Here is a good one:

I merged this thread with the other one posted, and deleted all the bumps you made. You need to wait more than 3 hours for a response next time smile.gif

well I wasn doing lurndry{see im tired} and did wait for a bump but when I looked at the home page {4 or 5 hours after post} the recent posts had gone.

edit: I was washing clothes all night so I was up for a while and its was alot of hours of waiting.

Reverse okeetees are not an expensive morph at all. $75 is a ridiculous price for one, and I'd never pay that unless it was an OUTSTANDING example of one.
SamAndLindy
well there are not cheap either im looking what the best I can get with my own.

Don S sells them for $45, and I'd have to say he quite possibly has the best line of reverse okeetees out there. Rich Z's flour oranges are a very close second.

I understand you're young, but $45 isn't anything when it comes to cornsnake morphs.

Consider that I have an opal stripe female about to lay a clutch of eggs. She was bred to a lavender bloodred. Both of those snakes as adults are worth over $1000 each. Those babies that hatch will be lavenders het bloodred, amel and stripe, provided there are no surprises. You're looking at a price tag of $200 a pop, if not more.

I have an opal motley clutch about to drop as well. You're looking at a price tag of $250 or more on those guys.

So trust me, $45 isn't anything when it comes to a particular morph or pattern that you like.

Kathy Love sells single male RO's for $35-50 each. Since you attend the Glades Herp meetings, talk to her and see if you can't get on her RO list for hatchlings.

Sam, was it that juvie male that was het for motley? i saw that one at a Show in Orlando and it was 75$ but i got mine from a friend(cheaper). But CAlas is right it was way expensive, since it wasnt a a nice example.Seems like you pay at least 45$ for a non rare color morph. Thats what i paid for my lavender boy , he will be paired up with my amel motley to eventual produce opal motleys
SamAndLindy
I own a okeetee not a reverse and I understand him. Also I said 75$ from what I remember a price was I could of gotten the okeetee I got mixed with the reverses so I am proaply wrong about the price.
