Full Version: F/T Problem
The Reptile Rooms > Snakes > Corns & Rat Snakes
Geckos-R-Cool
My son and I have been feeding our snakes live mice so far. Yeh, I know the Pros & Cons, but live for us has been working. Anyways, our local pet store ran out of live feeders and we had to buy some frozen pinkies and fuzzies. So, we thought this would be an opportunity to see if they would accept F/T. To our surprise both corn snakes took the F/T's right down, no problem. However, the next morning my son's corn snake regurg'd it's meal from the night before. This has never happened before.

Is this common when trying to switch over from live to F/T?

I wouldn't imagine this is a common thing unless the F/T was not probably prepared.

It's not common at all. Was the feeder thawed completely, and did the snake have access to the proper temperatures needed for digestion? Was the meal larger than normal?

Yeah, it's deffenatly not normal. Was the mouse clean? I mean, did it have any dirt or large chunks of bedding on it?

if the temp in the room changes alot during the night that can cause regurge,
