Does anyone know where I can find a good breeder for tokay geckos?

To be honest, they aren't the most bred reptile. You do on the odd occasion come across a breeder who breeds them, but i find this, well over here in the UK anyway, to be on rare occasions.

You do sometimes get the petstores that have CB tokays, i remember there was a thread a while back, when someone found some: http://www.reptilerooms.com/forumtopic-48764.html unforunately the link on that thread will take you off to a page selling tokays for $14.99, but i don't think those ones are CB.

Thanks for the info!

Most tokays are wild caught as Breeders don't make much profit on breeding tokays.

I pretty much gave up selling my Cb's online almost 2 years ago. A lot of interest but when it came down to I always saw bought my tokay from a pet store(WC"s) from people who had been interested. Although I would sell them at about $20.00 each by the time you added shipping it became a $60.00 plus Tokay. Most my sales came from people who bought as many as I could pack into one shipping box to only pay shipping once for 4-6 Tokays, and then I also gave a price break on more than two Tokays so in the long run it worked out to about $15.00 each for CB's. Now days shipping has gone out the roof so I don't even bother unless you live close enough to deal in person. I never sell them to make money but have to recover shipping.

My boyfriend is extremely interested in getting a tokay, but he wants to buy a CB one because they are, from what I have read, healthier. Is this true? What is the difference, are there physiological differences between the two? I have them literally running all over the outside of my home back in Florida. There is an established breeding adult pair on one end of the house and dozens of variously sized babies/juvies on the other side. Would it be totally wrong to catch one of the tiny little babies?

Most wild tokays have internal parasites as well as a higher chance of any injuries. Usually, the geckos are innocious to the parasites and wont harm the tokay as much as you think. Getting them dewormed may not be a healthier coice as it can cause extreme stress. Wild tokays can also be more agressive than than their captive bred counterparts. IF you want to go with captive bred then you may as long as you can find one. Wild caught specimens are easier to find though.
