So the new Tokay that I bought hasn't seemed interested in food at all in the last week, and she's showing signs of weight loss. She's refused crickets, supers, waxies, and pinkie mice.
Is there anything else I can try?

she's not full grown, I'm guessing 4-5 months. she's got ample heat and hiding places, she's been left alone in her tank for the last 4 days (except for me opening the top to put in crickets) and our vet gave us panacur to dose her with once a week for 3 weeks.

is the panacur for pinworms ?? I think my geckos get them from crickets. I can't explain any other reason for it to occur in my guys. Or did the vet just give it to you "just incase"?. my tokay is 5 months old...is yours friendly? I know that pinworms can be very uncomfortable especially in females cause they can work their way into the reproductive tract ......how fun. I'm guessing she is still settling in and if not hopefully the panacur will cure her hunger strike

the vet gave it to me 'just in case' because we're assuming she's a WC like most petshop tokays are. She is VERY not-friendly

oh haha. I was scared to get a WC. It was awesome I scored mine at 2 weeks old. I just found out yesterday i'm getting another given to me and apparently it's friendly too !!!

I'd have to say if all husbandry is ok, then you may have some 'ickies' crawling around inside your tokay.

she didn't make it... I went in to check on her last night and she was on the floor of her tank, barely breathing. I left her alone, hoping she's just come down to get a cricket, but when I went bac in to check on her about 15 minutes later, she had stopped breathing. Poor little girl...

I'm very sorry to hear that she didn't make it. It seems like that's the story I always hear with these WC Tokays. It's too bad that so many perish, even after we try so hard to give them a good life. If you are interested in getting another Tokay in the future, I would highly recommend that you get a CB one, because they will thrive in captivity, unlike the WC ones. If you are interested, I found someone that breeds his own Tokays and has all kinds of CB Tokays, from babies all the way up to mated, adult pairs. His name is Lance and here is an ad he placed on Kingsnake...

His contact email is in the ad itself. If you were to get one or more of his Tokays, you will be getting a very healthy, established gecko, and you have a much better chance of taming the gecko if you get a younger one. As you can see from the pictures in the ad, Lance is able to hold some of his geckos. Just a thought.
Again, sorry for your loss.

thanks for the kind words... if I do decide to try another Tokay, I'm definitely going with CB. Too much heartache with these WC's
