i feed my 3 month old snake a little pinky yesteday a very little one there wasent even a bump, so i decided to feed it agin to day it filled him up real nice. Would it be a bad idea to feed it on saterday....?

Ya it would probably be ok but it is better to feed 3 pinky's at once then one every day for 3 days. That way the snake can digest them all rather then get one half done and keep have another one added to it.
Skunky
If you feed the appropriate sized mouse, you shouldnt have to double-feed him, or feed on consecutive days
CornyGuy
You might need to move up to Fuzzies. Or Peach Fuzzies, if the Fuzzies are too big.

Yes skunky and corny are right if you can get just 1 bigger mouse that would be a better thing. If you cant then just give him 2-3 smaller ones.

Can't imagine 3 pinkies at once could be all that comfortable for the snake... I'd worry about digestion problems or regurg... Like everyone else said though, I wouldn't feed multiple days in a row or within such a short time period. Better to move up to the right size and right time frame between feedings. Less to worry about.

a bigger pinky fills him up nice i was thinking about feeding every tuesday and every saterday sounds good?
ayasha
Supposed? Hmmm As with all things Herp, it's often the individual animal. weight gain can be a health issue. make sure he has plenty to excercise on (burrowing, climbing). Snakes are opprtunistic feeders (some recent data indicates they may even be scavengers) so it's your discretion.

I suggest that if 2 pinkies are going down at one feeding, move up to fuzzies. Depending on age (6-10months?) one fuzzy every 5-7 days should be good. It's often up to the individual animal though..

by snake is always in his caves i rarly see him out of his cave should that be a issue?

No, it's in a new home so it's more then likely stressed and wants to hide. They aren't social animals anyways so they won't be out unless they want to eat/switch hides/or drink. They are also nocturnal so you'll see it during the night more then likely.

I don't think it would be a good idea to feed your snake every Tuesday and Saturday. Only 3-4 days between feedings would be over feeding him, which could lead to some health issues or at the very least a short fat snake. Like Ayasha said, when they are relatively young you should feed every 5-7 days. If you need to be on a set schedule just feed once a week on the same day. Although if your snake decides not to eat one day you'd have to adjust that anyway. As they get older you feed less often.

im confused on by what you mean as to every 5 to 7 days give me a exaple such as i did as to every tuesday and saterday
Sonni
I think what they are trying to say is to feed your 3 month old snake 1 fuzzy a week,, you pick the day). As your corn gets older, maybe in about 2 months you could feed your corn 2 fuzzies every 10 days.
My corn is 11months and she eats 2 hoppers ever 2 weeks. I always mark down on my calander when i feed her. that way i can know when to feed next ). Your snake will also give you clues that he is hungry such as increased movement in the evenings.
