has anyone on here had experience with feeding their tokays pinkie mice?? i've wanted to try it for a while but im not sure if she'd take it or not since it's not alive. just wondering!

Yes yes yes. I feed mine pinkies like 1-2 times a month, ONLY AS A TREAT. I say that because they are very high in fat and should only be fed as a treat every so often. 2 times a month is just fine. Just thaw them out, get a plastic tweezers and dangle it infront of your tokays face. She should take it. My girl loves them, but my male hates me and wont take them from me. Only if he cant seem me feeding him will he take them.

Another trick to get her to eat it is, after it is thawed, poke a hole in its belly so that she can smell the blood and guts and stuff and that should intise her to eat it.

i tried feeding pearl a pinkie for the first time last night and she just wouldnt go for it i dangled it in front of her and she just moved back affraid of it and when i dragged it on the floor she ignored it more. i think she just likes to go for the hunt and kill of live food cause after she wouldnt touch the pinkie i dropped in crickets and she pounced on them and chased them around the cage. who knows shes a gooffy little bugger
